Kirsten Manville and Tim Foley at Stage 33 Live
BELLOWS FALLS — Singer/songwriter Kirsten Manville creates songs with elements of Americana, folk, country, and blues that feel like they may have come straight from journal entries. Deceptively simple lyrics tell evocative stories about finding and losing love, hard times and small pleasures. Her warm voice infuses the songs with feeling and depth. Her latest album, Some People Sing, was a Metronome Magazine top-five album pick (and they subsequently featured her on the cover), and her song “…but Down” was an Alternate Root Magazine top-ten.
Tim Foley’s sound doesn’t settle easily into any box. He lived in New Orleans for a number of years, and his music is heavily influenced by that city’s tradition of experimentation and fusion. He gravitates toward blues, jazz, folk, classical, and funk in a variety of tunings, picking and strumming styles, and vocal timbres, making his shows consistently surprising with songs ranging from upbeat foot-stompers to melodic soundscapes. Tim’s next full-length release is scheduled to drop this year.
Kirsten and Tim will perform both separately and together. This co-headline listening event is a 3:00 PM matinee, comfortably nestled between lunch and supper. Sunday, March 29 at Stage 33 Live, 33 Bridge Street in Bellows Falls, Vermont. The performances will be recorded and filmed. Seating is limited to 40. Tickets are $10; advance tickets double as best-in-house, front-and-center chair reservations.
