There will be three electronic music performance concerts celebrating synthesizers, circuit-bending, and sound manipulation on the second Saturdays of December, January, and February (the 12th, 9th, and 13th respectively) at Stage 33 Live, 33 Bridge Street in Bellows Falls, Vermont.
BELLOWS FALLS — SLOW CIRCUITS: A Night of Immersive Ambient Sounds featuring Thorny, TotoRobyn, and Not A Hedgehog begins at 6:00 PM on December 12. The three performers will create a seamless experience with hints of trance, downtempo, and dreamtime, plus psychedelic visuals, consisting of three 30-minute parts, each by a different player.
The area in front of the stage will be reserved for those who wish to bring pillows, mats, cushions, or blankets to sit or lay on to get lost in the experience, meditate, or even take a nap if so moved. Chairs will be available on the sides and in the back.

Thorny is the ambient music project of Vermont synthesist and bassist JD Ryan, working from a deep palette of hardware synthesizers and processed bass guitar to creates immersive, slowly evolving soundscapes — music that lives in the spaces between tension and stillness, shaped by the fog, silence, and shifting light of the Green Mountains.
TotoRobyn, a.k.a. Robyn Alman, based in Boston, uses hardware synthesizers and effects pedals to compose primarily electronic ambient and downtempo music, with occasional forays into drone, chiptune, noise, and dance.
not a hedgehog, a.k.a. David G Shaw, is an enigmatic Boston synthesist creating eclectic ambient works of innovative electronic dreams.
• Seating is limited to 40. Advance ticket sales will automatically close once 40 tickets are sold — or at midnight the day before the show if it hasn’t sold out.
• An advance ticket guarantees that you’ll get in if it sells out.
• You can order up to six tickets per transaction. NO RESELLERS.
• A Paypal account is not required.
• The transaction fee is included in the ticket price so that the performers receive the full amount. All ticket money goes to the performers. We work with them to set the ticket price — all workers deserve fair pay, and artists are skilled workers.
• That said, we’re all volunteers, even the people doing pro-level work. There are options to support Stage 33 Live with an additional $2 or $5 per ticket to help us pay the bills and maintain the gear, and from time to time even fund improvements. These options are optional… there’s no shame in not selecting one.
• After completing a ticket purchase, a “success” page should pop up and you should get an email from Paypal. (Why do we use evil Paypal? Because their nonprofit processing fee is the lowest we can find to keep ticket prices as affordable for everybody as possible.) You should also get a confirmation email from us, but that one may take a day or two.
• If you don’t have a credit or debit card or don’t do online transactions, that’s cool. Drop us a line at stage33@stage33live.com and we’ll work it out.
• There are no brick-and-mortar outlets to get tickets.
• The name you give will be on a list at the door. All you have to do is show up. There are no physical tickets.
• We won’t sell your info. We won’t even add you to our email newsletter because man is it ever annoying when places do that without consent. Our newsletter is opt-in or by request.
• All chairs are first-come first-served for everybody. There’s really no bad seats, but up close is cooler. Come a little early to lock in your choice.
• Tickets at the door AS AVAILABLE. We can’t process plastic at the door, cash is best.

The following two sessions, on January 9 and February 13, will be in-the-round, with players in the center of the room and the audience around them and encouraged to roam. The performances will range from cinematic and lush to computeresque and urgent to tuneful and poppy. It will get loud.
These two sessions will open with a meet-and-greet at 6:00 PM. Get up close to the gear (look but don’t touch), talk with the performers, settle into the space. Five 20-minute performances will follow, starting at 7:00.
