Internationally celebrated singer-songwriter in Bellows Falls
BELLOWS FALLS — London-born and Oxford University-educated Rupert Wates has been a fulltime songwriter since signing an exclusive publishing deal with Eaton Music the late ’90s. Now based in the USA, he’s won dozens of songwriting awards and two tribute albums to his material have been made by artists in Nashville and Los Angeles. He has released nine acclaimed full-length solo CDs.
Although a draw at large venues and festivals, Wates prefers the intimacy of performing his eclectic mix of acoustic, melodic art/folk flavored with jazz, vaudeville, and cabaret for up-close audiences in small listening rooms. Stage 33 Live is deeply honored to host this listening event, which is Wates’ last East Coast date before his tour heads to southern states.
Local favorite Josh Maiocco opens.
