This is perfect timing: You’ll be wanting a break from the holiday madness right about December 22.
BELLOWS FALLS — Innovative guitarist and composer Hiroya Tsukamoto brings his fusion of folk, jazz, and world music to Stage 33 Live in Bellows Falls on December 22 in a special matinee performance.
Born and raised in Japan, he came to the U.S. in 2000 on a scholarship to Berklee College of Music. In Boston, he formed the group “INTEROCEANICO” with musicians from different continents, including Latin Grammy Colombian singer Marta Gomez; that group released three acclaimed records. Hiroya has also released three highly regarded solo albums to date.
In addition to his own compositions, Tsukamoto’s repertoire travels the world. Eclectic and immersive, he takes audiences on an earthy, organic odyssey. While his instrumental abilities are breathtaking — playing with a mesmerizing, effortless skill — his performances are more than that. He connects to audiences with an engaging, personable genuine-ness that brings it all full circle.
Tsukamoto leads concerts internationally, including multiple appearances at the Blue Note in New York City and on Japanese National Television. In 2018, he won second place in the International Finger Style Guitar Championship.
Sunday, December 22; a special 2:00 PM matinee. Door opens at 1:30. Stage 33 Live is an intimate, industrial-rustic listening room in a former factory with 40 chairs plus standing room. Advance tickets are $15, with a chair guaranteed until 40 tickets are sold. The price at the door will be $20, and a chair is not guaranteed — if any behind the reserved rows are available on show day, those will be available first-come first-served. Attendees are allowed to bring their own portable seating to set up behind the house chairs, or to use in place of their reserved chair.
100% of ticket sales directly support the performer.
After completing the transaction, you should be redirected to a “success” page and get an email from Paypal. You should also get a confirmation email directly from us, assuming you entered a working email address. The name you gave will be on a list at the door. All you have to do is show up.
Stage 33 Live is located at 33 Bridge Street in Bellows Falls, VT, and documents live performances and presentations of original material on a simple stage in a former factory building for downstream audiences. No kitchen, no liquor license, but you can find establishments with those things nearby. Coffee, soda, water, and weird snacks by donation.
