Ninja Monkey: loud funky blues and fun rootsy rock
BELLOWS FALLS — Ninja Monkey is the longstanding southern Vermont champ of original rootsy rock and funky blues, and local heroes Ezra Veitch, Josh Maiocco, Michael Lenox, Garth Tichy, and Handsome Johnny Janiszyn are bringing it back to Stage 33 Live.
Ninja Monkey has been blending quality musicianship and high-spirited fun in a balancing act of tight and loose for more than a decade. They almost called themselves Frikin’ Chicken and the Plastic Quesadilla Band — somehow it helps to know that.
This won’t be a listening room event. It will be a loud all-ages good-time Southern Vermont rock and roll for dancing and sometimes swaying show. The floor will be open, with edge seating. COVID-19 protocol in effect which may change without notice, see stage33live.com.
The performance will be recorded and filmed.
Suggested donation $5 for the band. October 23. Door at 6:30, start at 7. They’ll play until they’re done. There’s likely to be a sloppy after-party at PK’s Pub in Bellows Falls.
No bar or kitchen, the music is the mission; snacks by donation. Stage 33 Live is an industrial-rustic listening room in a former factory hosting local, regional, and national performers in an intimate setting. The performances are recorded and filmed. Seating is limited. Find more info about the nonprofit, all-volunteer project, and this and other other upcoming events, online at stage33live.com
