Tom Pirozzoli Album Release Show with Carl Beverly and Rich Ewald at Stage 33 Live

BELLOWS FALLS — Tom Pirozzoli’s recordings have had national and international success, and he’s in the Smithsonian Folkways Collection. He’s been on the Top 40 AAA charts, and had a featured release at Tower Records in Los Angeles and Nashville. He’s worked with artists like Greg Brown, Jesse Winchester, Doc Watson, and Willy Porter.

Sophisticated guitar playing forms a rich backdrop for his warm tenor, with melodies and lyrics exploring a wide range of the human and global experience. His encounters with people, cultures, and ideas while traveling Europe, South America, India, Southeast Asia, China, and Tibet continue to enrich and deepen his music. His relaxed stage presence features endearing, funny, insightful patter.

When he opened for Rupert Wates at Stage 33 Live last May and his set ended before anybody wanted it to, he asked the audience if he should come back — and received one of the most enthusiastic responses the room has had.

“Good sound, man!” – Taj Mahal

“You can’t write like he does without leaning into each line.” – Willy Porter

“Hypnotic soothing vocals and rich guitar textures… well crafted.”Sing Out

“Pirozzoli’s poetic lyrics make his songs worth reading as well as hearing.”Boston Sunday Globe

Carl Beverly from Warner, New Hampshire, has a distinctive rhythmic finger-picking style that grooves without straying far from a mellow folk grounding. His personal, relatable writing about the joys and sorrows of life, family, friends, and nature, along with his easy going personality, have made him a Stage 33 Live favorite. He’s been songwriting since the ‘70s and is a frequent performer at area coffee houses, open mics, and assisted living homes. Carl does much of his writing while hiking in his beloved Mink Hills.

Rich Ewald will be making his first appearance at Stage 33 Live. His provided bio cannot be improved upon: “Ancient local resident bored with singing to the walls of his house. Due to arthritic hands no longer plays guitar or keyboard in public, but coaxes original songs about place, family, love, mortality – folk, chant, bluesy/rockish tunes and drummed rhythms – from a 21-chord Oscar Schmidt autoharp, the most widely-respected manufacturer of the instrument and the one with the highest consonant-to-vowel ratio in its name.”

Tom Pirozzoli, Carl Beverly, and Rich Ewald will perform at Stage 33 Live on Sunday, January 26 in a 3:00 matinee. Tickets are a discounted $10 in advance through stage33live.com, or $15 at the door subject to availability. Advance tickets guarantee entry. All proceeds go to the artists. Charlotte Morris and Elliott Lee Friesen at Stage 33 Live

BELLOWS FALLS — Charlotte Morris is a Philadelphia-based singer-songwriter whose autobiographical music weaves together Americana, Folk, Jazz, and more. Her soaring vocals and keen songwriting, often compared to Joni Mitchell, Liz Longley, Eva Cassidy, and Ira Wolf, create an intimate and vulnerable experience. Seeing Charlotte live is like having a deep conversation with an old friend — personal, authentic, and familiar. And almost always with a few laughs and a few tears.

Influenced by artists like Delta Rae, Brandi Carlile, Sara Bareilles, Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris, and The Chicks, she joined the Lonesome Traveler folk tour in 2018 alongside Peter Yarrow, Noel Paul Stookey, George Grove, and more.

Charlotte is a veteran of venues such as The Bluebird Cafe and The Listening Room (both in Nashville) and Rockwood Music Hall (NYC), and festivals including PorchFest (Wayne, PA), Fall for Greenville (South Carolina), and The Ladybug Festival (Wilmington, DE). Her second studio album Wild Child (2023) made waves globally, resonating with audiences and charting internationally, and she spent most of 2024 on the road, including a sold-out show at Uncommon Ground in Chicago and performing as an official showcasing artist at Toronto’s 2024 Canadian Music Week. Wild Child is on the Grammy ballot for Best Americana Album, Best Americana Roots Performance (for The Day We Lost You), and Best Music Video (for Love Ain’t Real).

Off stage, Charlotte adventures in her converted van with her pup and is an avid crossword puzzler.

Elliott Lee Friesen is a singer/songwriter and wide-ranging multi-disciplinary artist from the green mountains of Vermont. Their acoustic folk-leaning indie-pop alt-rock has gained a dedicated following for its heartfelt authenticity, captivating melodies, and introspective lyrics often exploring themes of love, loss, and self-discovery. Soulful vocals and skillful guitar playing make their performances memorable.

As a young child with existential dread, Elliot grasped the concept of death and the infinite nature of the cosmos while in the bathtub, and now has Sponge Bob tattoos.

Dan and Faith are an award-winning, multi-instrumentalist, New England-based husband and wife singer-songwriter duo who tap into dreams and everyday life in crafting their original songs. Their sound is rooted in tight, interwoven vocal harmonies, supported by varied instrumentation and an occasional a cappella treatment. Sled Wrenches and Bird Boombox at Stage 33 Live

BELLOWS FALLS — A matinee pair of under-the-radar bands at Stage 33 Live in Bellows Falls, Vermont: Sled Wrenches from up in northeast Vermont, and Bird Boombox also from up there but the other side of the state, on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 3:00 PM. This is exactly the kind of thing Stage 33 Live was born for… to give emerging acts a shot.

Sled Wrenches plays original country, blues, rock, island, and a bit of jazz. Some might call it Yacht Rock, but they call it Boogernose Eclectic — they’ve clearly got a fun comedic streak. There will be somewhere between six and nine of them squeezed onto the little stage. Their debut album “Hound Dog 5” is out, and they’re working on the followup.

Bird Boombox is an alt-rock trio self-described as “alternative angst”, but they’re not shoegazey and emo. Elsewhere in their assets the phrase “a vessel for the vibrations of the natural world and a catalyst for community connection” comes up, which isn’t as catchy but is more accurate.

This matinee show will be a voyage of discovery — a chance to get in on the ground floor with these emerging acts.

Sled Wrenches and Bird Boombox will play the Stage 33 Live listening room at 33 Bridge Street in Bellows Falls, Vermont, on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at 3:00 PM. “Connor’s got the spark: a creative spark that literally shines all around him when he’s on stage… He has a way of turning a phrase or skewing a song scenario so that it makes the listener take note. That’s a real talent.”No Depression

Putnam Smith could be an old-world troubadour fresh from the 19th Century… he lives on a working homestead in Vermont, plays his great-grandfather’s banjo, and prints the jackets of his CDs on an antique letterpress. Yet this rootsy multi-instrumentalist songwriter, steeped as he is in old-time Appalachian traditions, is very much a storyteller for the modern age.

Called “One To Watch” by Rob Reinhart of Acoustic Cafe, and a 2016 Falcon Ridge Emerging Artist, he’s had two albums reach into the top 5 on the national Folk & Bluegrass DJ Charts and has performed all across the nation. Putnam is also part of the duo The Early Risers with his partner Ashley Storrow.

Connor Garvey and Putnam Smith will perform on Thursday, May 29 at 7:00 PM, Stage 33 Live, 33 Bridge Street in Bellows Falls, Vermont. Tickets are $15 in advance through stage33live.com or $20 at the door as available. Advance tickets guarantee entry. Only 40 tickets will be sold. The performances will be recorded and filmed.

Stage 33 Live is a casual and intimate industrial-rustic listening room in a former factory hosting local, regional, and national performances and presentations of original material. No bar or kitchen, the stage is the mission; coffee / soda / juice / water and weird snacks available by donation.
